The New Fall Woodworker’s Fair Artwork is Complete!
Bailey Wood Products creates unique artwork for each of their Fall Woodworker’s Fairs. Last year we featured our Luthiers. This year we are highlighting our Scrollers. Scroll sawing is a fascinating woodcraft that allows for incredible detail and intricacy.
While scroll sawing allows the woodcrafter to create any design, many of the patterns online lean toward the Arts and Crafts Period when artists rebelled against the material culture of the Victorian period with its heavily ornamented and fussy furnishings and textiles. Instead, artists and craftsmen looked to nature for their design aesthetic, creating appealing and comforting interiors that home woodworkers could reproduce. As a result, woodwork took centerstage in most homes, with Beautiful Oak panelling, chair rails, picture rails, built in cabinets, book cases, columns and pilasters. While relatively simple compared to Victorian furnishing, Arts and Crafts Style is rich and warm in appearance. Latticework and scrollwork allow for additional ornamentation on what might otherwise be a plain mantelpiece or plant stand.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the 6th Annual Fall Woodworker’s Fair at Bailey Wood Products on October, 20th, in Kempton, PA. But you don’t have to wait until then to come for a visit. If you are interested in purchasing wood for your own scroll sawing project, please call our office to discuss available wood species, special milling, or other requirements for your project.
We are currently taking applications for Vendors who are either woodworkers, contractors, designers, or sell products associated with woodworking. Please visit the Fall Woodworker’s Fair Page on our website to download the Vendors Application, and call to reserve you booth today!
