In case you have not marked your calendar yet…You will not want to miss the 5th Annual Fall Woodworker’s Fair. The Fair is growing each year; we are very pleased with the way things are shaping up. New to the Fall Fair is our woodworker’s competition. This event is open to all high school students from the school wood shop programs to which Bailey Wood Products supplies material. We will be judging the entries based on skill, originality, and presentation. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the competition. You will be amazed at the level of skill in the local schools. One of the schools we supply has a program where students have made guitars, as well as some beautiful furniture. It is a must see!
The Pennsylvania Woodmobile will be here again this year. If you have not had the opportunity to see the Woodmobile, it is a traveling display about forestry in Pennsylvania, showcasing the products that our state’s bountiful forests produce. I guarantee that you will leave the exhibit having learned something new about our woods and how they play an important part in all of our lives.
We will also have lots of demonstrations going on at the Woodworker’s Fair. The Penn Jersey Scrollers will be demonstrating their skills and techniques on the scroll saw as well as answering questions. Bill Grumbine, a local wood turner and good friend will be demonstrating turning wooden bowls on his lathe, while telling some interesting and humorous stories. The Woodcraft Store of Allentown will be here demonstrating one of their table top CNC Routers designed for the hobby and craft market. They also will have some Festool products and other woodworking tools available for sale. Bailey Wood Products will be demonstrating their Epilog Laser and have a variety of products available for sale to spice up your holiday gift giving as well. A complete list of vendors will be posted closer to the date of the Fall Fair.
In addition to the demonstrations, we have a varied mix of different vendors offering products that they have made from wood at Bailey Wood Products. Of interest to our non-woodworking visitors, we have vendors selling Scentsy Products, Jewelry, and there will be plenty of great food available provided by the Brick House Grill of Orwigsburg, PA. So mark your calendar for October 21 and 22 and take a ride out and visit us on a beautiful Fall day.
