Versatile White Pine
White Pine is a very versatile species of wood, and is commonly thought of as a framing material for houses and general construction. White Pine’s abundance and ability to grow rather quickly, compared to hardwoods, makes it a very useful species for lumber.
This past week we produced some Log Cabin Siding from kiln dried 2″x 8″ White Pine. Kleintop Contracting from Lehighton, PA, contacted us several months ago to produce this siding for a special project. They provided us with a sample of the material that was needed to match an existing building. We made the molder knives to match it, and produced 3000 SF of the product for this project. 
We can offer this profile of log cabin siding in different species of wood, such as Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, and also in a range of thermally modified species of wood as well.
Log Cabin Siding isn’t just for exterior applications. This product can be installed inside your home or “Man Cave” to provide that rustic cabin feel, without the cost of putting up a log cabin. It is ideal for paneling an individual room, or even just one wall to accent the look of your interior, and add a unique touch to your décor.
We also have in stock some very wide widths in White Pine. The boards range from 13-19″ in width, and the available lengths are 14′,15′ and 16′. This stock has been sorted for good solid tight red knots, and is kiln dried and ready for all sorts of special projects. The thickness of this material is all 4/4, which we can surface to a finished 3/4″.
These wide widths are great for use in wide plank flooring. Over the years we have had customers use this product to add a unique look to their living space. We have ship lapped the product for these applications, and when the product is installed, the customer nailed it in place on the face of the planks using rose head nails to give the finished project that old time feel.
In stock at Bailey Wood Products, we also have several live edge slabs of White Pine that are wide widths. Most of these range in length from 8-10′. The thicknesses that we have are 2 1/2″ and some 3″ thick planks. There is a wide range of widths available, as well as some book matched sets. These are all kiln dried and ready to be used for table and bar tops, furniture and other unique applications.
